Konami has unleashed a monsoon of screenshots as it details Silent Hill: Downpour, the next installment in the long-running survival horror series.
Having taken a brief sabbatical from the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 – in which time the impressive Silent Hill: Shattered Memories released on the Wii – Downpour marks a return to the HD consoles.
Czech developer Vatra is behind the game, first scant details of which came earlier this month.
Now the trickle has turned into a downpour (sorry) as Konami reveals official screenshots and details some of the philosophy behind the game.
"Having a compelling story is the key element to a good Silent Hill game," said associate producer Tomm Hulett, "It's what set SH1 apart from the other early survival horror games, why SH2 is so fondly remembered, and so on. Of course, an important aspect of this is how the story ties into the horrific things the player encounters."
Producer Devin Shatsky went on to explain how Silent Hill: Downpour's environment differs from that of previous games. "We have this huge city at our disposal, yet in the past, it was comprised primarily of locked doors," he said. "We wanted to give players a bit more incentive to search around and check those doors without facing a constant barrage of discouraging locks."
To that end Silent Hill: Downpour will feature side missions: "This gives the player a greater sense that they are 'exploring the town' and then rewarded with these mini-stories," saud Shatsk. "We've been very careful to keep these immersive enough to make the player feel like they're still a part of the main story, yet separate enough that they aren't forced into completing all of them in a linear fashion to reach the ending."
Silent Hill: Downpour releases this Autumn.

Mortal Kombat is an upcoming fighting game in the Mortal Kombat series. Developed by NetherRealm Studios, it is the ninth installment in the series and the first to be published exclusively under the Warner Bros.
The story begins after the events of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, but then returns to the period in which the first three games - Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat II and Mortal Kombat 3 - occur. Due to a plot twist (the character Raiden now having knowledge of the future), the events of this time are slightly altered.
Mortal Kombat is the first title in the series to include 3D graphics with gameplay solely on the 2D plane (2.5D). The developers have also stated that this is the first game in which they are making a conscious effort to create deeper gameplay for more dedicated players of the series and of fighting games in general. Mortal Kombat was officially announced on June 10, 2010, accompanied with a debut trailer showcasing the new presentation and new gameplay features. Mortal Kombat has an announced April 19th, 2011 release on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 systems. A PC version has also been posed as a possibility

Fat Princess is primarily a multiplayer game for up to 32 players, with the basic goal of rescuing the Princess and bringing her back to the team's base. The players pick up and carry cakes to feed the Princess, which makes her heavier and harder for the enemy to carry back to their own castle. The game contains six character classes (Villager, Worker, Priest, Ranger, Mage, and Warrior) and three downloadable classes (Pirate, Ninja and Giant) each of which contributes to the team's task of capturing the princess in a unique way.
In Fat Princess, the player joins one of two opposing groups consisting of up to 16 characters each, with the goal of rescuing their team's princess from the other team's castle. To make their opponents' task more difficult, players can feed the captive princess cake slices. With each slice, she becomes heavier and harder to carry back to her respective castle. Over time, the effect of the cake wears off.
Players can change their character classes and abilities by picking up hats that are generated at their team's castle. Hats can also be found on the warzone where enemies have fallen. The game's six classes are the villager, priest, mage, warrior, ranger, and worker with three additional classes (pirate, ninja and giant) unlocked from DLC. Each class has its own unique set of abilities and skills. Classes can be upgraded by having a worker collect resources from the map and then upgrading the hat-producing machines. Upgrades provide alternative weapons or attacks to each class.
On each map there are several trees and ore nodes that worker classes can use to obtain resources.
Other interactive objects are bombs, potions that turn players into chickens when thrown, and torches that most classes can use to ignite their weapons to do additional damage.
I bought this because it was on sale and it was pretty fun ^^

The game follows the events of Infamous with Cole MacGrath as the main protagonist again. The game is set in a new city called New Marais, a New Orleans-inspired city, which Cole heads to in order to enhance his electrical powers further. The game begins with Cole fighting the Beast in Empire City, barely escaping with his life. Cole, along with his friend Zeke, flees to New Marais to prepare for his inevitable encounter with the Beast; this is the location where the Ray Sphere was created. Cole encounters the Militia, a shadowy group led by a man named Bertrand, and the Corrupted, horribly mutated beings affected by the Ray Sphere. The Militia has taken over New Marais in an attempt to keep all superpowered or abnormal things away. Cole encounters Wolfe, one of the men involved in the Ray Sphere's creation. Cole will combat the Corrupted and Militia, explore New Marais, and learn about himself, Kessler, and The First Sons along the way while gaining new abilities to confront the Beast. The first one reminded me of assassins creed in how parkour works in the game. All in all, its going to be an awesome game.
Unfortunately this game is exclusive to the ps3.

When Portal was originally released as part of The Orange Box in October of last year, its uniquely puzzling gameplay and dark, sharp-witted humor thrilled consumers and critics alike. Set in a mysterious scientific facility, Portal introduced players to new ways of moving through the gameworld that challenged their perspective and flexed their spatial awareness. The pitch-perfect voice-over soon became stuff of Internet legend, and the song that played during the end credits was so popular that it has since been released as a downloadable track for Rock Band. The only real complaint that surfaced was that the game ended too quickly. Recently released as a stand-alone retail product, Portal remains a unique gem of a game that packs a huge amount of appeal into a small package.
The first few levels of Portal introduce you to fairly simple applications of portal technology, eventually putting the portal gun in your hands and enabling you to create portals anywhere you like. Well, not quite anywhere. Certain surfaces are not portal-able, and this is one way that subsequent levels, known as test chambers, become more difficult. Other elements, such as energy balls, weighted cubes, floor switches, and moving platforms, are incorporated into the test chambers in increasingly exacting ways, but the real complexity and the real genius of Portal lie in the challenge of "thinking in portals."
The second one is coming out and its going to be sick

Two hundred years have passed since the gates to oblivion slammed shut, and the world of Tamriel
is a very different place. The empire has ceded territory to elven nations it once ruled. The blades
that so proudly defended the Emperor are all but wiped out. In the far north, the Nords have turned against one
another, and civil war seems imminent. The World Eater, the great dragon Alduin, is coming to fulfill his prophecy just
as the elder scrolls predicted he would, Tamriel may not realize it yet. But these are the birth pangs of a new era. To fend off the
dragon and restore order, Tamriel needs the Dragonborn. Those rare individuals anointed by the gods to strike down this
ancient threat. Sadly, that storied line of mortals is all but extinct. But there is one- A lowly prisoner unaware of his destiny.
The one the resurgent Dragons will come to fear. The one those winged beats will curse in their all but forgotten language.
They will call him Dovahkiin
I really liked the Elder Scrolls games so far and Skyrim looks epic. It reminds me of oblivion and includes dragons. I love dragons
Who doesn't? Anyway, Skyrim will be released on 11/11/11. Make a wish.
